DESCRIPTION:WCEF 2020 Side event – Water-Smart Economy to enable circularity and support recovery plan \nThe event targets innovators\, business and public authorities. It will focus on circularity in the context of the European Green Deal strategy and the Recovery Plan for Europe\, the initiative to help repair the economic and social damage brought by the coronavirus pandemic. \nThe event will feature relevant policy instruments and initiatives aiming at water circularity in the COVID-19 recovery context. The aim is to facilitate discussions and exchanges among policy makers and innovators on concrete steps for fostering the uptake of innovative solutions toward circular economy in the water sector. \nFive new large-scale demonstration projects\, financed through the Horizon 2020 Call for proposals Building a water-smart economy and society\, will pitch their ideas and planned activities:\nREWAISE– REsilient WAter Innovation for Smart Economy\nULTIMATE – indUstry water-utiLiTy symbIosis for a sMarter wATer society\nB-WaterSmart – Accelerating Water Smartness in Coastal Europe\nWIDER UPTAKE – Achieving wider uptake of water-smart solutions\nWATER-MINING – Next generation water-smart management systems: large scale demonstrations for a circular economy and society \nCheck the agenda and register by 15 November.

SUMMARY:Living Labs in the Water Sector: political\, social and technical aspects
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is organised in the framework of the Energy & Environment Taskforce of the European network of Living Labs ENoLL. Over the last two years\, numerous Living Labs initiatives in the water sector have emerged. In order to raise awareness of these new initiatives\, to connect the projects to the people responsible for carrying EU water policies and to facilitate networking\, this workshop gives them a voice. It is co-organised by Water Europe and will demonstrate the links between public policies at the macro level\, projects in Living Lab mode in the meso level\, particularly in the H2020 framework program\, and the tools implemented in the sector\, representing the micro level.
