REWAISE activity has been awarded at the Global Water Awards 2022

Last 17th of May REWAISE activity has been recognised in its three nominated categoriesat the Global Water Awards, part of the Global Water Summit (GWS) conference. This event aims to recognise excellence in the global water industry and to reward those initiatives in the water, wastewater, and desalination sectors.

The coordinator of the REWAISE Project, Aqualia, has been recognised as the world’s second-best company of the year at the Global Water Awards 2022. In this category, the goal was to recognise the water company that had made the most significant contribution to the development of the international water sector in 2021.

In the same awards, the company has been nominated in the ‘Net Zero Carbon Champion’ category thanks to various projects to find sustainable solutions such as All-gas project and Zeppelin Mission. The nominees in this category were companies whose products and services had done the most to reduce the carbon emissions of their customers in 2021.

Also, RecoLab in Helsingborg, one of the demo sites of the predecessor project to REWAISE, Run4Life, was nominated for the ‘Wastewater Project of the Year’. This category aimed to show the greatest innovation in terms of optimising its physical or environmental footprint. RecoLab is an environmentally and climate-smart infrastructure with a focus on urban development around water and sewerage, waste, energy, and recycling.

Finally, the head of Aqualia’s Eco-efficiency Area, Victor Monsalvo, involved in various areas of REWAISE, was awarded as ‘Distinction Water Tech Idol’ for his presentation of the MIDES project, a unique system for desalinating water without energy costs.
